Cooler weather, gusty winds this week in San Diego County

A man warms himself at a fire pit after being in the ocean on the overcast day Photo by Chris Stone Times of San Diego A low-pressure system moving into Southern California will bring cooler temperatures gusty winds and a deepening marine layer across San Diego County this week according to the National Weather Operation Temperatures will trend several degrees below normal through midweek with the coolest day expected Thursday the NWS disclosed Highs Tuesday are forecast to reach near the coast to inland to in the western valleys to in the mountains and to in the deserts The system is also expected to boost winds in the afternoons and evenings especially in the mountains and deserts where gusts could reach to mph in wind-prone passes and canyons Drivers along parts of Interstate should prepare for headwinds Meanwhile a deepening marine layer will bring widespread low clouds and patchy fog west of the mountains overnight and into the mornings with slower clearing at the beaches Drizzle is accomplishable midweek as cloud cover thickens Conditions are forecast to warm gradually over the weekend as a the trough lifts but highs will likely remain below seasonal averages
